What We Believe

Everything we believe is based on The Bible – God’s Holy Word.  We believe Jesus Christ came to earth as a baby, lived a sinless, holy life, died on a cross to redeem us from sin, rose from the dead and then ascended back into heaven. After His ascension, He sent the Holy Spirit to empower believers and to assist us in our daily lives.  Because of the love Christ demonstrated to all mankind on the cross, we can be set free from sin and brought into right relationship with God the Father.

Believing all this is one thing, receiving it is another.  Receiving Christ is often referred to as being “born again.”  The key to all this is faith in Jesus Christ or in more simple terms:

  • admitting we’re sinners,
  • believing Jesus is the ONLY way to the Father
  • confessing our sins
  • asking Jesus to cleanse us and make us new.

Bethesda is a charismatic church, which means we believe in the dynamic manifestation of the Holy Spirit; in supernatural power as evidenced in Acts 2:4; the gifts of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12) and the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22).

If you have any questions regarding what we believe, please call us. We’re always delighted to discuss Scripture, to pray with you and to encourage you any way we can. We believe knowing Jesus Christ can and will make a difference in your life!
